TopNotch Site Health License, Activations & Private Updates

How licensing works

TopNotch Site Health Pro uses remote license validation. Your purchase determines how many WordPress sites may be active at the same time, while all paid plans use the same Pro feature set.

  • Pro 1 Site: 1 active site
  • Pro 5 Sites: up to 5 active sites
  • Pro 15 Sites: up to 15 active sites
  • Pro Unlimited: intended for customers managing larger numbers of their own/client WordPress sites under the license terms

Activating a site

Enter the complete license key in License & Entitlement and activate it. A successful activation shows an Active status, the plan name, current site usage and renewal/expiry information.

Deactivating and moving a license

Deactivate the license on a site you no longer use before activating another site. Deactivation releases that slot. Reinstalling WordPress, changing domains, cloning staging environments or migrating hosts can create a new site identity, so check the activation count after migrations.

Annual expiry and renewal

Annual licenses remain entitled through the displayed expiry date. Renewal keeps remote entitlement and private updates available for the next term. If a license expires, the installed plugin does not need to be deleted, but services tied to an active entitlement—such as private update access—may no longer be available until renewal.

Private updates

When the license panel shows Private updates enabled, WordPress may check the TopNotch update channel for eligible releases. To trigger a normal WordPress check, go to Dashboard → Updates → Check again. If you already have the latest release, WordPress will report that your plugins are up to date.

If an update is not appearing

  1. Confirm the license is Active.
  2. Confirm the site is within the plan activation limit.
  3. Use Dashboard → Updates → Check again.
  4. Clear only WordPress update/transient caches if you know how; do not purge the whole database.
  5. Confirm outbound HTTPS requests from WordPress are not blocked by a firewall or hosting rule.

Protect your license key

Do not publish the complete license key in screenshots, support forums or public tickets. The plugin may display only a shortened reference locally. When contacting TopNotch support, provide the masked reference, site URL and purchase email unless support specifically asks for something else through a secure channel.
