Before you install
Download the TopNotch Site Health Pro ZIP from the purchase or license email and keep your license key available. If the site is business-critical, take a fresh backup before adding any new plugin.
Install the plugin
- Sign in to WordPress as an administrator.
- Go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the TopNotch Site Health Pro ZIP file. Upload the ZIP itself; do not unzip it first.
- Click Install Now, wait for WordPress to finish, then click Activate Plugin.
If WordPress says the destination folder already exists, check whether an older TopNotch Site Health build is already installed. Do not delete a working installation blindly if you need to preserve settings; update it through the normal plugin update flow when available.
Activate your Pro license
- Open the TopNotch Site Health admin screen and locate License & Entitlement.
- Paste the complete license key from your purchase email.
- Click the activation button once and wait for the remote validation to finish.
- Confirm that the status shows Active, the correct plan is shown, and the site count has increased by one.
For example, a Pro 1 Site license should show 1 / 1 after successful activation. Paid tiers use the same Pro feature set; the difference is how many WordPress sites may be active at the same time.
Confirm update entitlement
After activation, the license panel should show that private updates are enabled. You can also go to Dashboard → Updates → Check again. If no newer release exists, WordPress will simply report that your plugins are up to date.
Run your first audit
Open TopNotch Site Health and start the complete audit. Leave the browser tab open while the report is running, especially on larger sites. When the run finishes, review the overall summary first, then work through individual findings by evidence and severity rather than trying to “clear” every notice.
Moving the license to another site
Deactivate the license on the old site first. That releases the activation slot. Install and activate the plugin on the new site, then activate the same license there. If the old site is no longer accessible, use the support guidance instead of sharing your full license key publicly.
