Most Notch Content Intelligence issues fall into one of three groups: the site audit is working with a different content set than expected, an imported file is missing usable fields, or the optional Search Console connection needs attention. Start with the symptom instead of resetting everything.

Does NCI edit or delete my WordPress content?
No. The plugin audits and analyzes content. It does not automatically rewrite posts, change slugs, publish drafts, delete pages, add redirects or replace SEO metadata. Decision labels are recommendations for review.
Why does a keyword say Already Exists when the exact phrase is not in my title?
NCI is not limited to exact-title matching. It can use signals from titles, slugs, headings, body terms, taxonomies, supported focus-keyword fields, entities and intent compatibility. An existing page may already cover the same user need using different wording.
Open the suggested URL and judge the actual purpose of the page. If the intent is different, treat the result as a prompt for manual review rather than forcing the keyword into the existing page.
Why is one query associated with more than one page?
When Search Console data is connected, Google may report the same query for multiple URLs. That is not automatically harmful cannibalization. Different pages can legitimately appear for the same query in different contexts. NCI surfaces multi-page query data so you can compare intent, impressions, clicks, position and content before deciding whether anything should change.
Why is search volume blank?
NCI does not fabricate keyword metrics. If the imported file does not contain search volume, the plugin leaves that information unavailable. Search Console impressions are also not the same thing as third-party estimated monthly search volume.
If volume matters to your workflow, import it from a research source you trust and understand. Then use it as context rather than the sole reason to publish.
Why is keyword difficulty blank?
For the same reason: NCI does not invent a universal difficulty score. Different SEO data providers calculate difficulty differently. If your source supplies the value, NCI can use it as an imported signal.
Why did my Search Console sync return fewer rows than expected?
Search Console’s API does not promise a complete list of every query. NCI’s standard sync also uses a practical row limit so the feature remains manageable inside WordPress. The current release requests up to 5,000 rows by default, with a developer filter available for larger limits up to 25,000.
Also check that you selected the correct URL-prefix or domain property and the intended date range. A property mismatch can make perfectly valid data look incomplete.
Why is today missing from Search Console data?
The current NCI sync ends at yesterday. That avoids depending on incomplete same-day reporting. It is intentional.
What should I do with redirect_uri_mismatch?
Open NCI’s Search Console tab and copy the Redirect URI shown by the plugin. In your Google OAuth web client, make sure that exact URI appears under Authorized redirect URIs. Do not recreate it from memory. Protocol, domain, path and trailing characters must match.
See the full Google Search Console setup guide for the sequence.
Why can’t I see my Search Console property?
First confirm that the Google account used during authorization actually has access to the property. Then confirm whether the property is a URL-prefix property or an sc-domain: property and that you are looking for the correct site variant. If access was just granted, reconnect or refresh the property list rather than changing unrelated WordPress settings.
Can NCI audit drafts and private content?
Yes, when those statuses are included in the audit. This is useful for editorial planning because a draft can already occupy a topic even though search engines cannot see it yet. Treat private content carefully: NCI analyzes it locally for planning, but you should still manage WordPress user permissions appropriately.
What happens if I reset local audit data?
The NCI audit data is cleared so you can rebuild the analysis. Your WordPress posts, pages, slugs and SEO metadata are not deleted by that reset.
What happens if I disconnect Search Console?
The active access-token state, refresh token, selected property and sync settings are removed from the connection. In the current version, the Client ID and Client Secret remain saved for easier reconnection. See Privacy & Data Handling for the full distinction.
Will uninstalling the plugin delete its data?
Not by default. NCI preserves its own data unless Delete data on uninstall has been enabled. Use that option only when you intentionally want the plugin’s tables and options removed.
Why does an opportunity score look different after a new audit?
The score depends on the signals currently available. New or updated content, a different keyword import, changed internal links, added volume/difficulty fields or refreshed Search Console data can change the context. The number is for prioritization, not a permanent grade.
Should I create every URL labelled Write Long-Tail or Write Standalone?
No. Check whether the topic deserves a distinct page for a real reader. Google’s guidance is clear that content should be created primarily to help people, not simply to produce more pages for search visibility. NCI can identify room in the content map; it cannot supply the expertise, evidence or business reason that makes the page worth publishing.
I still need help. What should I send?
Before contacting support, note your NCI version, WordPress version, PHP version, the tab or action involved, the exact error message and a short set of reproduction steps. If Search Console is involved, say so—but never include your Client Secret, refresh token, WordPress password or hosting credentials.
