TopNotch AI SEO Tool Changelog

This changelog records features that have actually shipped in Notch Content Intelligence. It is intentionally separate from future ideas: an item belongs here when it is part of a released build, not when it is merely planned.

Version 0.4.1 — WordPress.org submission edition

Version 0.4.1 prepares the plugin for directory review without removing the working audit engine introduced in earlier releases.

  • Updated WordPress.org contributor metadata for the Top Notch Agency LLP account.
  • Added the product-specific Plugin URI and TopNotch author URL.
  • Improved directory-facing support and documentation references.
  • Kept the local audit, keyword import, clustering, internal-link and Search Console workflows intact.
  • No expiry mechanism, forced backlink, custom update lock, telemetry or hidden TopNotch cloud dependency was introduced.

The public download on TopNotchAgency.us remains v0.4.0 while 0.4.1 is being prepared for final directory review. That avoids replacing a verified public release with a submission build before the review process is complete.

Version 0.4.0 — Google Search Console integration

Version 0.4.0 added the optional Search Console layer so site-level content decisions can be compared with real query and landing-page performance data.

  • Direct Google OAuth 2.0 connection using a user-supplied Google Cloud client.
  • Read-only Search Console scope.
  • Discovery of URL-prefix and sc-domain: properties.
  • 28, 90, 180 and 365-day sync ranges.
  • Query-plus-page Search Analytics with clicks, impressions, CTR and average position.
  • Local storage of synced GSC data in WordPress.
  • Multi-page query signals for manual cannibalization review.
  • GSC metrics incorporated as optional opportunity context rather than guaranteed ranking signals.

There is no TopNotch cloud proxy in this release. See Google Search Console Setup for configuration.

Version 0.3.0 — public-release and import hardening

Version 0.3.0 focused on making the plugin safer and more practical for use beyond a single site.

  • Site-agnostic behavior rather than hard-coded assumptions about one WordPress installation.
  • Privacy and uninstall controls.
  • CSV import/export improvements.
  • More deliberate intent-aware comparison.
  • Upload handling and public-release hardening.

Version 0.2.0 — generalized content decisions

Version 0.2.0 expanded the early audit logic into a broader site-scanning and editorial-decision model.

  • Generalized scanning of WordPress content.
  • Coverage and overlap review.
  • Pillar and supporting-topic signals.
  • Long-tail and standalone opportunity decisions.
  • Internal-link relationship analysis.

What is not a release note

NotchCache, Site Health, hosted NCI services, Pro licensing and other future product ideas are not features of NCI simply because they appear elsewhere on the TopNotch website. This changelog only describes NCI releases.
