Midjourney Pricing and Plans: Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega Compared

Compare current Midjourney Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega plans, including pricing, Fast GPU time, Relax Mode, Stealth Mode and commercial-use considerations.

Midjourney Cost & Plans 2025: Full Pricing Guide (Free vs. Paid Tiers) | Comparison of Midjourney’s Free and Paid Subscription Cost Plans

Midjourney currently offers four subscription tiers: Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega. The right plan depends on how much Fast GPU time you need, whether you want Relax Mode, whether private generations matter, and whether your organization falls under Midjourney’s commercial-use requirements.

Because pricing and plan features can change, this guide uses Midjourney’s current official documentation as the source of truth and explains how to choose without relying on an outdated free-trial claim or fixed recommendation.

Current Midjourney plan prices

According to Midjourney’s current plan comparison, the monthly prices are:

PlanMonthly priceAnnual priceFast GPU time
Basic$10$96 ($8/month equivalent)3.3 hours/month
Standard$30$288 ($24/month equivalent)15 hours/month
Pro$60$576 ($48/month equivalent)30 hours/month
Mega$120$1,152 ($96/month equivalent)60 hours/month

Midjourney states that annual billing provides a 20% discount and that the full yearly amount is paid upfront. Check the official plan comparison before subscribing because features and prices are subject to change.

There is no permanent “free tier” in the current plan table

The current official comparison presents Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega as subscription plans. Do not rely on older articles that describe a permanent free account or a fixed 25-image free trial.

If Midjourney runs a temporary trial or promotion in the future, confirm it on Midjourney’s own website before assuming it is available.

Basic plan: lowest-cost paid entry

The Basic plan currently includes 3.3 hours of Fast GPU time per month. It does not include Relax GPU time for images and does not include Stealth Mode.

Basic can make sense when:

  • you generate occasionally;
  • you want the lowest recurring subscription cost;
  • you can work within the Fast-time allowance;
  • you do not require private generations.

If you regularly exhaust the Fast allowance, compare the cost and inconvenience of extra GPU time with moving to Standard.

Standard plan: adds unlimited Relax image generation

The Standard plan currently includes 15 hours of Fast GPU time and unlimited image generation in Relax Mode. It does not include Stealth Mode.

This can be useful for creators who generate frequently but do not need every job to run at Fast priority.

“Unlimited Relax” does not mean every type of Midjourney processing is unlimited. It refers to the plan’s Relax-mode entitlement described in the current plan table.

Pro plan: more Fast time plus Stealth Mode

The Pro plan currently includes 30 Fast GPU hours, unlimited Relax image generation and Stealth Mode. Midjourney’s current comparison also gives Pro a higher concurrent Fast-job allowance than Basic or Standard.

Pro is worth evaluating when:

  • private generations are important;
  • Fast-time demand is consistently high;
  • you need more concurrent image work;
  • your company’s commercial-use requirements make Pro or Mega necessary under Midjourney’s terms.

Mega plan: highest Fast-time allowance

Mega currently includes 60 Fast GPU hours, unlimited Relax image generation and Stealth Mode. It is designed for heavier use, but that does not automatically make it the best plan for every agency or studio.

Choose it based on measured usage, not on job title. If a team never approaches the Pro plan’s Fast-time allowance, paying for more unused capacity does not improve the workflow.

Fast Mode and Relax Mode

Fast GPU time is the priority compute allowance included with each plan. Relax Mode uses a lower-priority queue and is available for image generation on Standard, Pro and Mega under the current plan comparison.

For current video entitlements, queue limits and concurrency, refer to Midjourney’s plan table rather than relying on an old screenshot because these details can change as the product evolves.

What Stealth Mode does

Stealth Mode is currently available on Pro and Mega. It is intended for users who want their generations kept private from Midjourney’s public discovery surfaces, subject to the service’s current documentation and terms.

Do not confuse Stealth Mode with a legal confidentiality agreement. If the project contains commercially sensitive or regulated information, review whether the service and account setup meet the organization’s actual confidentiality requirements.

Commercial use: read the current terms, not a blog summary alone

Midjourney’s current commercial-use guidance says subscribers generally own the assets they create, subject to the Terms of Service and important exceptions. It also states that businesses with more than $1 million USD in annual gross revenue need a Pro or Mega plan for company commercial use.

There are also restrictions around assets created by other users and third-party rights. For the current rules, read Midjourney’s commercial-use guidance and the Terms of Service.

Platform permission and legal copyright protection are separate questions. Our Midjourney Copyright and Commercial Use guide explains that distinction.

Annual billing: when the discount makes sense

Midjourney currently advertises a 20% discount for annual billing. The full year is charged upfront.

Annual billing may make sense when:

  • you already use Midjourney consistently;
  • the plan level is unlikely to change soon;
  • paying upfront fits the budget.

Monthly billing gives more flexibility if you are still measuring usage or expect requirements to change.

Unused Fast time does not roll over

Midjourney’s current billing documentation says unused Fast time expires at the end of the billing period rather than accumulating indefinitely.

That makes actual usage an important part of plan selection. If you consistently leave most of a higher-tier allowance unused, consider whether a lower tier would be more efficient.

Extra GPU time

The current plan comparison lists additional Fast GPU time at $4 per hour across the paid tiers. Compare the cost of occasional extra time with the recurring price difference between plans.

Upgrading and downgrading

Midjourney allows plan changes from the subscription-management area, but the timing differs by direction. Current documentation says an immediate upgrade can receive credit based on unused Fast time, while a downgrade generally takes effect at the next renewal.

That is different from older descriptions that say every plan change is immediate. Check the current upgrade/downgrade guidance before changing plans.

How to choose the right plan

Use four questions:

  1. How much Fast GPU time do you actually use?
  2. Do you need Relax Mode for frequent image generation?
  3. Do you need Stealth Mode?
  4. Do the current commercial-use terms require Pro or Mega for your organization?

Consider Basic when

  • usage is light;
  • Fast-time limits are acceptable;
  • privacy features are unnecessary.

Consider Standard when

  • you generate images frequently;
  • Relax Mode would prevent repeated Fast-time shortages;
  • Stealth Mode is not required.

Consider Pro when

  • you need Stealth Mode;
  • 30 Fast GPU hours better match measured usage;
  • higher image concurrency matters;
  • the commercial-use terms require the tier for your company.

Consider Mega when

  • 60 Fast GPU hours are genuinely useful;
  • your production volume consistently exceeds what Pro provides.

Do not estimate image counts from GPU hours too precisely

Older pricing guides often convert GPU hours into a fixed number of images. That can mislead because processing time varies by model, feature, resolution, video use and job type.

It is more accurate to track your real Fast-time usage inside the service and use that history to choose a plan.

Taxes can change the checkout total

Midjourney notes that sales tax or VAT may be added depending on billing location. The amount shown in a pricing table may therefore not equal the final checkout total for every customer.

A simple plan-selection example

If a creator uses only one or two Fast hours per month, Basic may be sufficient. If the same creator begins generating many exploratory images and repeatedly runs out of Fast time, Standard’s Relax image generation may offer better workflow flexibility.

If a commercial team needs private generations or falls under the revenue condition in Midjourney’s current commercial-use terms, Pro or Mega deserves review regardless of raw image volume.

What to check before subscribing

  • current plan price;
  • Fast GPU allowance;
  • Relax-mode entitlement;
  • Stealth availability;
  • concurrent-job limits;
  • video features if relevant;
  • commercial-use requirements;
  • tax/VAT at checkout;
  • monthly versus annual billing;
  • current cancellation and plan-change rules.

Bottom line

Midjourney’s current paid lineup is Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega. Choose from measured GPU usage, Relax-mode needs, privacy requirements and the current commercial-use terms—not from an old recommendation about what “90% of users” supposedly need.

Because plan details can change, verify the official Midjourney plan comparison immediately before subscribing.
